LGBT Family Night OUT at the Pasadena Playhouse on Saturday, December 27 for Sleeping Beauty will have a Pre-Show Reception with out actor David Engel at 5:45 pm with show at 7:30 pm!


DAVID ENGEL (Nanny Tickle) Though it’s rare to catch him out of a dress, David returns to Pasadena direct from playing two famous Dads: Gomez in The Addams Family and Mr. Banks in Mary Poppins.

Engel is a six-time winner of the Ovation Awards given out by the Los Angeles Stage Alliance. He has performed on the Tonight Show, the Royal Variety Performance before Queen Elizabeth II, and co-hosted the Presidential Inaugural Gala at the Kennedy Center. Engel has been in numerous Broadway and Off-Broadways productions. He created (and starred in) the role of Hanna from Hamburg in the original production of La Cage aux Folles on Broadway.  David was also paired romantically opposite RuPaul in the award-winning cult musical short film “Zombie Prom.

In 2009 he appeared in Forever Plaid: The Movie. He played the role of “Smudge,”which he created for the original New York production of Forever Plaid. He first appeared on film in 1982 in The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.
